For several years, I’ve been helping physics teachers to make their lessons more engaging and use simple activities to get across some pretty amazing physics. We’ve swung corks around our heads to discover dark matter, and predicted new particles to ‘win’ a Nobel prize.
In particular, I deliver outreach workshops on behalf of Canada’s Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. I’ve given workshops through the British Council in France, the Institute of Physics, and England’s STEM Learning
And I’m the PGCE Physics tutor at Newcastle University, helping trainee teachers with how best to get across some of the most challenging concepts young people come across in their time in school.
